HTC is a founding member of the Open System Partnership, a group of handset manufacturers and mobile system providers dedicated to the development of the Android operating system mobile telephone system. The HTC Dream, promoted by T-Mobile in many countries as the T-Mobile G1 or Era G1, was the first phone available on the industry to use the Android operating system mobile telephone system.
